Never Underestimate The Potential Of Your Idea

Scientists and Psychologists believe that every day, every hour, every minute, every second, every millionth of a second, thousands of thoughts flash in our mind.  It is difficult to remember each and every thought or an idea.  Similarly, when you see something, an idea generates in our mind and we let go of it because we don’t bother thinking much about it.  We try and focus on the important and trivial issues at hand and let go of an important idea that can change our lives.

Let me give you a few examples of when we get ideas:

  • We see that here is an opportunity and nothing is being done about it;
  • We see something that is being done somewhere else and the same thing is not available locally within your community;
  • We see something that is not being done well;
  • We see something that can there is a potential in furthering the process and creating a product or service which will be helpful;
  • We see something and remember that somewhere else, somebody is doing something which if added together can lead to some wonderful product or service

Let me tell you that the world today has progressed based on such ideas which have been inspired by looking at someone at some place or identified a need that could be fulfilled locally.  There are thousands of products and services today which are based on such examples.

What you need is to capture that thought and not let go of it. You don’t know what social and financial benefits you could reap from it.  Experts have written about how to jot down your thoughts and therefore I will not dwell up on it.  What I would like to tell you is that you must give your thoughts some consideration before you move it to your brain’s trash can.  If you apply basic principles of thinking forward and imagining the dots, you may be able to visualise the huge potential of your idea.  Well, the time for some ideas may not have arrived yet and therefore, it is not reason enough to dump it.  Keep the idea alive and when the moment you think is right, strike the hammer.

When you have been thinking about an idea or a solution for a long time and feel very strongly about it, believe me, someday soon you will feel the strong urge to carry it forward, give it shape or materialise it.  Most people who are employed get ideas and inspiration to fill in the gap that their current employer is not fulfilling and want to take it forward but their “being employee-mentality”  does not allow them to break-free.  Yet, there have been examples of “employees” leaving their jobs to pursue their dreams, inspirations, solutions and ideas.

Here, let me put in a word of caution.  Not all ideas will be worth the effort and consideration.  But those ideas or solutions that your heart feels strongly about it need to be pursued with complete dedication and commitment.

So, if you have a dream, an idea, a solution, a need that your product or service could fill in or you are flooded with such ideas every day, then someone higher up wants you to take the bull by the horn and take charge.  The onus then is clearly on you.  You will be responsible for your state of economic and financial affairs.  The world out there is waiting for your product, your service, your idea, your solution.  You do not have to start big.  But as I mention in my earlier blog, courage is required.  Take the first step and the world is out there to follow you.

Best wishes.
